Hi Yvonne,
Glad to hear it. Perhaps you've convinced a few people to eat the occasional vegan meal...

Hi Patty,
First, simply going vegan isn't necessarily going to result in weight loss. For most of us, we do see a drop because we are eating less calorie dense foods. But there are some highly caloric vegan meals out there too. You have to take an honest look at what you are eating. Does your fruit consist of apple pie or cobbler, or is it whole apples? Are your veggies steamed or roasted? Or are they more often french fries or mashed potatoes? Or smothered in vegan sour cream or margarine?
Jane & I both lost weight quickly and effortlessly when we started eating vegan, but once Jane started baking again, and making more substantial meals, I gained back a few pounds.
Basically, it's the same formula for vegans and omnis. Calories in must be less than calories out in order to lose weight.
Jane always says you hit plateaus going up or down in weight and suggests trying to incorporate a bit of exercise into your day for a bit to shock your metabolism into gear. (But I know how hard that can be!)
Finally, if you are really trying and not seeing results, perhaps you should go see your doctor. There may be an underlying medical reason why you aren't losing the weight.

Hi Bea,
Thanks. Perhaps next year we should swap spouses ;) Oops, maybe I should check with Jane first.

Hi earthmother,
I'm impressed. A raw Thanksgiving. I'm happy to hear your dishes were a success. It's the best kind of promotion for a vegan/raw diet!

Hi Sheree,
I love the Tofurky too. Jane, not so much. She's completely addicted to the Celebration Roast. I think she wants to make a trip to the Field Roast headquarters and tell them how much she loves them (okay, that's an exaggeration).
As for the banana. Yes, it pairs wonderfully well with the sweet potatoes. I hope you enjoy.

HI, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love new blog buddies. Your Thanksgiving looks great! My daughter made a Tofurky this year and brought me some. I have to say I love it! I have been vegan for a little over 2 years and this was my first time trying it. So good! I love the idea of banana in sweet potatoes. A perfect natural sweetner. Thanks for the idea!

I had My First Thanksgiving In The Raw, sans turkey and all the traditional trimmings. I made four dishes to bring to the family gathering and all were a big hit! :D

Enjoy your leftovers - mine are already all gone
