Saturday Night – Date Night at Fatty’s

Fattys Roasted Veggie Salad w TofuThis isn't my first post on Fatty's Restaurant, and it certainly won't be my last. Jane and I LOVE this vegetarian restaurant in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles.

We often go out to dinner on Saturday nights, it's our unofficial "date night." So tonight, even though it's pouring out, we decided to brave the elements and head over to Fatty's again. They don't have a huge vegan selection, but you're not limited to one entree, and it's really nice not to have to try and create a meal, as we usually have to do when we go out.

Tonight we tried the Roasted Vegetable Salad with tofu (photo above). The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the balsamic glaze was delicious. I don't know that we'd bother ordering the tofu again; there was an additional charge ($2 or $4, I don't remember) and we only had 3 small cubes of tofu! But the salad was very tasty, and the presentation was beautiful.

Fattys Cadillac PizzaWe also shared the Cadillac Pizza. The base "sauce" is pesto. The topping was comprised of bite sized pieces of broccoli, zucchini, roasted onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and pine nuts. I'm not sure what the seeds were, sesame... or perhaps chia? Next time I'll make sure to ask.

The pizza was delicious. We got the larger size and brought a few slices home. They'll make for a nice snack tomorrow.

  1. Yum, I love Fatty’s. That pizza looks fantastic.

  2. It all looks fab, to me

  3. I swear, neither Jane nor I are affiliated with this restaurant in any way other than we are customers. We don’t know the owner/s. We only know the waitstaff who’ve served us…
We sooooo love this restaurant. And so far, we’ve never had anything we didn’t care for. I just wish they’d expand their vegan options a bit more. As I’ve stated before, they certainly have a larger selection than almost any other restaurant we frequent, but if you’re going once or twice a week more variety is better!

  4. I have just looked at your blog for the first time, and I think it is great. Your restaurant reviews are really good, I must remember to take photos of the food next time I do a review of a restaurant for my blog.

  5. Thanks for the kind words meday. But I can’t take credit for the idea of photographing our restaurant meals. A lot of the foodbloggers we read do that.
It also has the added advantage of reminding us what we’ve ordered in the past, and if we liked it.
