Hi Christina,
Jane says they taste like cheese doodles. I don't remember what cheese doodles taste like. They're pretty good, though.

Hi Sparrow,
Sorry to tempt you. I never said they were healthy. They are marginally better for you than potato chips, though.
Actually, we're not all that young. We're both in our 40s and feeling our middle age! That's primarily why we went vegan. Jane's concerned that with her family history we need to eat better. I've got better genes, but really we could take better care of ourselves! Perhaps we should heed the warning inherent in your comment, and cut out some of the junk we've allowed to creep into our diet over the past few months!

Hi Chelsea / Sparrow,
We're always munching on something en route home from the farmers market. Lately it's been the strawberries (yes we buy the organic berries). Often it's carrots. Yum! We also love the sugar snap peas. These really don't have any relation to what you get at the farmers market though!

I'm the same way, Chelsea! Especially with fresh peas. It takes a lot of willpower to save them for a recipe!

I'm an addict when it comes to my local farmers market--and always get lots of peas and greenbeans--and half of them are gone by the time I get home!

8 grams of fat per serving? Whoa!

I have kind of a skewed outlook on fat, since I'm on Dr. Barnard's program (because my fatty vegetarian ways led me to diabetes) and am limited to 30g per day (though advised to go lower) with a suggestion to not eat anything with more than 3g per serving.

You guys are still really young, though. And it's possible that you process fat differently - I forget if it's Dr. Fuhrman or Dr. Esselstyn, but one of them says that different bodies process fat differently and where one person might be able to eat steak three times a day and have clean arteries while another is dying of heart disease at 40 or 50 g per day.

I envy your low cholesterol and blood pressure scores. I'd probably still be eating lots of fat if mine had stayed good, too. I miss eating the kind of snacks you guys eat. Really enjoy them! There's a chance you won't be able to eat them anymore when you hit middle age so really savor them now. (So I can savor them vicariously through you! :-)

I saw these things at my local organic food store and wondered what they'd taste like. Maybe next time I'll give them a try!
